We are currently seeking qualified candidates for multiple Scientific Support Specialist roles with a global biotechnology company specialising in antibodies and related products. These are permanent positions that will be based out of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
PURPOSE
As part of our Client’s Scientific Support team, the Support Specialist is responsible for providing daily technical support to customers via email and phone. This also involves liaising with production labs about the products, updating product datasheets and reviewing customer data. In addition there is also departmental and inter-departmental projects, sharing your expertise with your team and the rest of the organisation. We are looking for candidates who speak either French and/or German and/or Spanish, to specifically look after these corresponding customer bases where you are required to use first class communication skills as well as expert scientific knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answering customers’ enquiries via email and phone
- Troubleshooting problems with antibody-related applications and antibody based products (Western blot, IHC, immunoassay kits, etc.)
- Resolving complaints by providing optimal solutions to customers, balanced with commercial needs
- Improve our customers’ work in the lab and increase sales by cross-selling where appropriate
- Liaise with product suppliers to obtain product information when necessary
- Update product datasheets when new information becomes available
- Review customer feedback in the form of online submissions before publication
- Some travel to conferences and customer visits
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- BSc or above in a life sciences field
- Additional research laboratory experience using antibodies and related reagents
- Experience in at least two antibody related applications including western blot or immunohistochemistry
- Good team player with excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English plus either French and/or German and/or Spanish
- Strong attention to detail and be passionate about delivering quality scientific support
- Previous experience of working with customers
