We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Team Leader role with the Cell Biology segment of a global biotechnology company specialising in antibodies and related products. This is a permanent position that will be based out of the Golden Triangle region of the United Kingdom.
PURPOSE
Our Client is looking for a Team Leader to support a team of scientists and manage various projects. This role will be responsible for maintaining visibility of all projects to understand their status to recognize progress, and deal with problems quickly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Challenge and question project plans and experimental design to drive best outcome
- Offer development opportunities by encouraging participation in forums, projects and activities
- Monitor compliance with H&S and Quality policies and accurately interpretation of SOPs
- Line management of team, to include; providing feedback on performance and celebrate successes
- Comply with company policies
- Manage overall workloads, help with decisions around prioritisation and raise resource problems with senior management
- Participate in CIMMT to maintain communication between all levels and contribute to site-wide initiatives and maintaining consistency between teams
- Compile/coordinate compilation of monthly KPIs and provide commentary around progress
- Monitor projects to ensure deliverables are met and communication with project managers is maintained
- Line management – empower team members to manage projects and suggest ideas for process improvements
- Drive process developments/improvements in-team and wider processes
- Liaise with other team leaders and project managers to coordinate interdepartmental collaborations
- Actively maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs) and resource requirements to contribute to budget processes and take responsibility for defining resource needs
- Manage CAPEX requirements
- Coordinate and perform regular informal QA audits of own team and processes
- Encourage team to complete drafts and reviews of SOPs and CAPAs within defined timelines
- Monitor training records and time tracking for the entire team
- Support and coach line managers in the team in effectively managing their line reports
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree level or higher qualification (or equivalent) in life sciences
- Solid line management experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Confident and clear communicator
- Experience of working in a global biotech
